American Gothic Flame Mahogany Bed circa 1840

This is a very rare American gothic flame mahogany bed.  The only other one similar to this bed was seen in a museum.  It is circa 1840.  It has exquisite flame mahogany veneers.  There are four posts that are octagonal with inset panels.  There is a clover design with teardrop finials.  The side rails are over an inch thick.  This bed has the numbers 669 carved in the headboard as shown in photo.  It is very sturdy and a very well built bed.
