This is a rare American Aesthetic Period bedroom suite in the style of the Herter Brothers, circa 1880. The primary woods are of figured chestnut and ash. The inlaid designs are rosewood, ebony, olive wood, satinwood, amboyna and several others. The secondary wood in the dresser is poplar. The bedroom suite came from an affluent Newport Rhode Island estate. It is in excellent condition with the exception of a blister to a small part of the inlay at the top of the cheval mirror. The dimensions for the bed are: 80” tall x 80 1/2” long x 60” wide, dimensions for the dresser & mirror are: 91 1/2” tall x 50 1/8” long x 22 3/4” wide, dimensions for the cheval mirror are: 90” tall x 37 1/2” wide x 23 1/2” deep. This is a very fine and rare Aesthetic bedroom suite in excellent condition.
